Pakora are spicy Indian vegetable fritters. Vegetables are coated in a chickpea (chana) flour and buttermilk batter, made spicy and hot with chilli peppers and garam masala (spice blend), then deep fried. They make great appetizers or snacks. In memory of Alta, a beautiful lady, kind friend, and wonderful cook, who just recently went to be with Jesus. This is a chocolate chip cookie recipe she gave me several years ago.
Here I made the oatmeal variation, used whole wheat flour, and substituted butter and margarine for the shortening.
