The following recipe is from my mom. She would make fruitcake almost every Christmas season, both regular fruitcake and this special Gumdrop Fruitcake. I loved both and would eat slice after slice… (perhaps one of the reasons I seemed to gain weight every Christmas-time??).

Mom’s recipe.
fresh mint leaves – 1 big bag
2 onions (medium size)
2 tsp tamarind concentrate (more if you like it sour)
1/2 tsp salt, or to taste
2 hot green chili peppers (opt) – to taste
Blend in blender.
