A family favorite--not as heavy as some fruitcakes. The gum drops add color and texture!

Gum drop fruit cake
Cream together:
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
Add:
1 c. milk
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
Mix in:
3 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Add:
1 c. nuts (may use slivered or whole almonds, or walnuts)
2 c. gum drops (the kind that are especially for baking work best)
1 c. candied fruit mix (cherries, pineapple, citron, etc.)
1 Tblsp. frozen orange juice concentrate
1 c. raisins (either regular or golden)

Put in 2 loaf pans, or a small loaf pan and a tube pan, greased and lined with waxed paper.  Bake approximately 1 hour at 325 degrees.
