Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup shortening (can reduce to 3/4 cup and/or substitute margarine or butter)
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1-2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 – 12oz. pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips (or, if you don’t want too chocolatey – use only a half-pkg, or about 1 cup)
1 cup nuts (optional)
Cream together shortening and sugars. Beat in eggs. Add vanilla and mix well.
Add flour, baking soda and salt. Stir in. Add chocolate chips
