Date Balls
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 lb. dates
1 egg, beaten
1 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup nuts or coconut
2 cups crisp rice cereal

Bring butter, sugar and dates to a boil. Beat egg and add milk, vanilla and salt. Mix and add to the date mixture and cook for 2 minutes. Cool and add nuts and crisp rice cereal. Form balls and roll in coconut.
